Ernst & Young: Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award          

              Ernst & Young LLP and Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes are pleased to announce the selection of Josh Westgate as the  West Michigan finalist for the 2007 Ernst & Young Youth Entrepreneur award.  

         The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards program celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and continues to recognize the leaders and visionaries who are creating and building world-class businesses.  As a part of this year’s celebration, Ernst & Young and Junior Achievement created the Ernst & Young Youth Entrepreneur award to encourage the next generation of business leader.  Youth Entrepreneur recipients from Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin will also be recognized during the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2007 Awards program for the Lake Michigan Area in Chicago in June of 2007.

    Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes is pleased to have so many industrious young people among the students in its programs.  They exemplify the ability to put what they learn in school into practice in the real world of work.

Josh Westgate is a senior at Kenowa Hills High School runs multiple businesses in order to stay diverse.  He sells items on E-bay and also gathers and cleans scrap metal to sell.  He cuts and splits firewood and hauls and spreads topsoil.  Josh also has an interest in the stock market and has dabbled in buying and selling stocks over the years.  Teacher Roger Perkins nominated Josh for his hard work out of school and also his contributions to the JA company program they have done in the classroom.
